Joseph was placed in foster care when he was nine, and spent the next four years hoping he would be adopted by a mom and dad who would always love him.
Meanwhile, Patty and David were praying that they would find a child who they could love forever, and had opened their hearts to wherever God might lead.
We had the special honor of bringing Joseph, Patty, and David together, and took great comfort in seeing how gracefully they negotiated the various challenges that typically accompany an adoptive family’s first months together.
Here you see them at their adoption finalization ceremony, during which Joseph could barely contain his joy.
