A Message from our President
Thank you for your interest in Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Collectively, the programs of Catholic Charities represent a response to the gospel call - to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, clothe the naked and give hope to the multitude of people who feel hopeless.
Catholic Charities represents an opportunity for all to work for the good of the people in need who come to us. Many of these people are not Catholics. People of many faiths, cultures and economic backgrounds receive our services. They are people who truly want and need the help we provide.
Outstanding professionals who want a challenging, caring environment work for us. Volunteers who have time and talent find an opportunity for service.
Contributors, both individual and from the corporate and foundation worlds, will appreciate our focus on effectiveness, efficiency and accountability.
In fact, Catholic Charities is included in the one percent of charities to receive Charity Navigator's highest rating, four stars, for nine consecutive years.
I am constantly amazed at the generosity of heart and the caring spirit of so many people. I invite you, too, to respond to the needs of people in our community by supporting the work of Catholic Charities. Whether you support our programs serving children, families, the elderly, the sick and their loved ones, refugees and immigrants or battered women, you respond to serious human needs and you strengthen your community that much more.
My pledge to you is that Catholic Charities will remain true to its vision statement: "People of faith helping people in need achieve self-sufficiency." Won’t you join us in this endeavor?
- Bonna Kol
