Pope Francis Encourages Catholic Charities Family

Cynthia N. Colbert, MSW President and CEO of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston participated in the Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) Annual Gathering that was held on October 4-7th in Charlotte, North Carolina. The theme of the gathering was: Setting the Pace: Changing the Course, and it provides an opportunity for Catholic Charities professionals, volunteers, and partners to advance our work, strategize about poverty reduction, and celebrate our shared identity. Speakers included Sister Anne Bryan Smollin, C.S.J., William Evans, James Sullivan and Dr. Ruby K. Payne, PhD. Helping to set the tone, Pope Francis addressed attendees, and all who are involved in the Catholic Charities mission to provide help and hope for those in need.
