St. Vincent's House
Located in Galveston, Texas in St. Vincent's House on 2817 Alfreda Houston Place, formerly known as Post Office Street, we provide basic needs services for people in Galveston County.
Rent, Utility, Short term Case Management, Information and Referral assistance is available to individuals and families in crisis, as funding is available.
The Rental Assistance Program is primarily focused on families in crisis. Case managers work with individuals during this time to help them locate jobs, job training and to maintain stable housing. A client may be eligible for one-time rental assistance, or short term case management program as funding is available.
There are no fees for these services.
Clients must present photo Id, proof of address and income verification. To qualify for rent/mortgage assistance, client must have a vacate notice or an eviction notice. To qualify for utility assistance, clients must have a utility disconnect notice.

Volunteer Opportunities (Special Projects)
Volunteers are needed to support client services through telephone intake, client interviews, and clerical/office support.
Additional opportunities arise through special projects such as Share Your Blessing Christmas gifts, School supply drives, (i.e., small repair jobs, painting)
Appointments preferred. Emergency services depending on availability of resources.
