Rockets basketball player Jeremy Lin and his family shared the gift of Christmas with 25 children from community organizations, including five Catholic Charities refugee clients originally from Burma and Thailand. He gave each child at the Toys R Us on Old Spanish Trail a $100 gift card for them to purchase any toys their hearts desired. Many of them shopped not only for themselves, but also got gifts for their brothers and sisters. Some of the kids, like 10-year-old Tee No, also were interviewed by media.
Jeremy told the kids as they ate breakfast before their shopping spree, “I believe that God gave us his only son as a gift so I wanted to share Christmas gifts with all of you.” Amen, Jeremy, and wishing you and your family and the Rockets a Blessed Christmas and joyous 2013!
