The Villa – Offering Safe HavenVilla

The Villa’s transitional housing helps women and their children escape from domestic violence and other issues at a 22-unit transitional housing complex east of downtown Houston.  We provide social services that assist them in moving toward freedom, permanent housing and employment.

There are no fees for these services.

Eligibility Criteria

Clients must present photo ID and income verification.

Must be homeless and provide written documentation of their homeless status.  Cannot have more than three children eight and under.

Most clients come from the Houston and Harris County area.


Volunteer Opportunities

The residents of the Villa benefit from the support of churches, community groups and businesses. Opportunities to volunteer may include:

  • Hosting a food drive or school supply drive

  • Sponsoring a family for a holiday project

  • Donating diapers and baby formula

  • Making “move-in” baskets with cleaning supplies & linens

  • Donating toiletries such as soap, shampoo, deodorant, and toilet paper for men and women

  • Donating make-up and clothing for women entering the workforce

  • Collecting bedding and towels

  • Donating school supplies and/or toys that are age appropriate for the children

  • Assisting with childcare during group meetings

  • Answering the phones
