Catholic Charities' Cabrini Center for Immigration Legal Assistance participates in the New Americans Campaign (NAC), a groundbreaking national network of legal-service providers, faith-based organizations, businesses, foundations and community leaders that is paving a better road to citizenship.
Citizenship Application Assistance Workshops
The Cabrini Center staff offers citizenship application assistance at Citizenship Workshops in Houston and surrounding areas on a regular basis.
Citizenship Workshops at the Cabrini Center Main Office - 2900 Louisiana Street, Houston, TX 77006 - will take place on the following days:

Basic Requirements for Naturalization
- Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
- 18 years old or older
- Five Years of Continuous Residence as a Permanent Resident
- Exception if Married to a U.S. Citizen (Three Years Continuous Residence)
- Physical Presence in U.S. for at least half of the Five (or Three) Year Period
- Good Moral Character for the Five (or Three) Years
- Be able to pass English and U.S. History/Civics Exams
- Take a Loyalty Oath
Interested in helping eligible lawful permanent residents apply for citizenship? We are happy to provide training on how you can help an applicant complete a citizenship application. No prior immigration experience is required. Fluency in another language is helpful, but not necessary.
